Yesterday evening, our u14s B team made the short journey to Laune Rangers for their third county league game. Daniel Mcneer set the tone of the game when the corner back made two unbelievable blocks. The first block even drew a round of applause from the Laune Rangers management. Spa played some lovely football in the first half with a great variety of Kick passing and off the shoulder running. Our back were in control with James Brosnan and Lennon Cronin full back marshalling the centres. Our work rate throughout the field was impressive, with Ted Sheehan and Ryan Cronin winning plenty of turnovers in the forwards, which resulted in scores. At half time, we lead 2-7 to 1-2 with our goals coming from Maks Wesolowski and Daniel Cremin. Our points coming from Noah Murphy 3, James Brosnan 2 and single points from Daniel Cremin and Josh Buckley. In the second half, Spa weren't going to let control of this game slip and started the half strongly with points from Brosnan and Buckley, with Brosnan finishing the game with 6 points. Brosnan then cut through the centre of the Laune Rangers defence to hit the back of their net. Again, in this half, our backs weren't in the mood to cough up any easy scores, with our wing backs of Noah Murphy and Sean Brosnan mopping up plenty of breaking ball. Further goals came with two great finishes from Amir Mambetov and Ryan Fitzgerald. Josh Buckley and Noah Murphy chipped in with a point each in that second half. Our work rate throughout the entire team was a joy to witness, with Spa forcing plenty of turnovers. The final score was Spa 5-13 Laune Ranger 2-6. It's great to see this team develop over the last year, and we had three players who made their competitive debuts this evening. Jakub Slowakiewicz, Amir Mambetov, and Timur Loi. Thanks to Laune Rangers and to the Ref for this evening game
